Section 3.9 Inverse Trigonometric Functions

Example 3.9.1.

Find \(\cos\left(\sin^{-1} \frac{\sqrt{6}}{3}\right)\text{.}\)

Refer to table of trig functions 1 .

Example 3.9.2.

Find the derivatives:

  1. \(\displaystyle \frac{d}{dx} \sec^{-1}(5s^2+6)\)

  2. \(\displaystyle \frac{d}{dx} \ln(\tan^{-1}(3x^5))\)

  3. \(\displaystyle \frac{d}{dv} v\sqrt{1-v^2} - 4 \sin^{-1}v\)
